More and more we connect with each other; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, MySpace, Youtube. We want to be connected but connection means more than just “being friends”. Interaction is needed to stay in contact. I use my iPhone on the road to keep this interaction going, apps like Tweetdeck, Facebook and LinkedIn help me to interact and follow on a more efficient level. But now I’ve got something new.
Two weeks ago a friend of mine got me this new gadget called the Chumby to try out.

So whats a Chumby ?

Ok, picture a digital photoframe but now one that you can upload apps on. The Chumby is an internet driven device that connects with your wifi network and can contain many different apps like twitter or facebook. Think about how this extra screen is on your desk and warns you immediately if there is a new message, twit or e-mail for you. It can show you the weather, it can update you on sports and you even can get the best Chuck Norris quotes.

At this moment there are over 1500 apps that you can easily upload to your Chumby by using the on-line application. Chumby makes it easy to stay in touch and to follow without being stuck to your computer. Or make you Chumby into a digital picture frame in sync with your Flickr account, listen to your internet radio, make your own flash based app or just use it as an alarm clock. Possibilities are endless.
